Weekend in Shreveport

We visited Ryan's parents in Shreveport last weekend. We hadn't been home since Christmas due to tax season, so it was a trip that was well overdue. We visited a friend of mine that had a baby (forgot to bring the camera to the hospital), had a belated birthday cookout for Ryan and relaxed all weekend.

Looks like a cheesy engagement picture...

Behind the Guytons' wooden fence in their backyard, there is a taller fence that reminds me of Jurassic Park. That taller fence surrounds 200-300 acres of private land. The owner has elk, several types of deer, zebra and wild turkey back there! Mr. John, my father in law, has made friends with Sparky, one of the elk. We were able to feed Sparky along with several brave deer. By the time we were finished feeding the animals, there were probably 20 deer back there. Very cool!

Thanks for having us for the weekend, Mr. John and Mrs. Sylvia. We can't wait to come back!
